Road from Raymondtown to Sudbury Canada, 1795

The road described below ran from Raymondtown (now Raymond and Casco), through Otisfield, Bridgton (which then included Harrison), Waterford, Oxford (now Albany Township), to Sudbury Canada (now Bethel). The present State Route 35 follows much of this route.

Such is the rapid increase of population, and improvement in this District, says a correspondent, that, tho a few years since it was uncultivated wilderness, it is with pleasure we learn, that it is now passable with a coach from Raymondstown through Otisfield, Bridgton, Waterford and Oxford, to Sudbury Canada.
